My Recipe Presentation in Class

I gave a recipe presentation in class, and I was able to introduce a recipe of any kind of food!

I chose to make "Galette Bretonne" for my presentation.

Galette is a term used in French cuisine to designate various types of flat round or freeform crusty cakes, or in the case of a Breton galette, a pancake made with buckwheat flour usually with a savoury filling.

The recipe and the taste is very similar to that of a conventional crepe. While crepes are made from wheat flour, galettes are often made from buckwheat flour

The galette has its origin in the famous crepes. These are a gastronomic speciality that is offered throughout France, but the galettes originate from the region of Brittany located in the northwest of the country.

There is evidence that in the Ancient Rome people ate crepes to celebrate the arrival of the spring and, therefore, the harvest to come. Centuries later, this traditional recipe evolved and new ingredients were added, such as buckwheat flour.

These are the ingredients that you need.

Whole grain flour (30g), prosciutto (two slices), cheese (to taste), olive oil (one teaspoon), milk (60ml), egg (one), black pepper (to taste), and parsley (to taste).

Next, the materials that you need is...

A frying pan, bowl, spatula, spoon (or ladle), and kitchen scale.

Directions:

First, measure 30 grams of whole grain flour and prepare 60 ml of milk. Instead of using whole grain flour, you can use simple wheat flour or buckwheat flour. Buckwheat flour is usually used for making galettes.

Then you mix the flour and milk with a spoon or a ladle. Make sure you mix it until the lumps are gone and becomes smooth.

After that, start pre-heating the frying pan. When the pan has heated up, put some olive oil, and spread it. Then spread the batter in the frying pan to make it round.

Then add some cheese. (Make sure you leave some space in the middle to put the egg.) Crack an egg in the middle and add some prosciutto.

Finally, use a spatula and fold it neatly to make a square shape. Add some black pepper and parsley if you like.

Finish!!

Serving suggestions:

You can cut some mini tomatoes and serve it together to make it look nice. You can top off with anything you like.
