Restaurant Review

I went to a restaurant called, "Jasmine Thai" and it's a restaurant inside COREDO Muromachi. COREDO Muromachi is a shopping and entertainment complex located in the historic Nihonbashi district at the very heart of the city.

This restaurant is certified as Thai SELECT. Thai SELECT is a mark of certification awarded by the Ministry of Commerce, the Royal Thai Government to guarantee the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products and Thai restaurants in Thailand and overseas

This restaurant had this red symbol, which is Thai SELECT Classic, and this is awarded to Thai restaurants of excellent quality.

I went to eat with my parents, and we ordered spicy papaya salad, fried shrimp spring roll, shrimp fried rice noodles with basil and chili, and massaman curry.

First, about the service, I give three stars out of five. The waiters were polite and we didn't get stared when we were eating. Also, they served all the food relatively quickly.

Next, the quality of food was really good. All the dishes were delicious and I really like spicy food so it was my desired taste. But the portion size was smaller than I expected. The fried shrimp spring roll looked pretty big in the picture of the menu, but it was actually really small.

The atmosphere was okay. Nothing particularly special. The decor was interesting. They had traditional figures

The price was pretty reasonable. All the appetizers and salads cost more than 1,000 yen. We paid about 6,000 yen for three people.

Lastly about the surrounding, the restaurant itself was very clean. All the cutleries and dishes were also clean

As an overall rating, I really enjoyed the dishes and really liked the restaurant!!

Australian family and food culture from the book "Hungry Planet"

Today, I'm going to introduce you an Australian family and food culture from the book called "Hungry Planet" .  The family is called the Molloy family. Natalie   is the mother of this family, and she is a finance officer at the University of Queensland College. John is the father and he is a banker. They have two kids which is Emily and Sean . This is how the grocery stores look like in Australia. Next, this is the family's weekly consumption . From the weekly consumption, the family buys a unique product called " Vegemite ". Vegemites are made from mainly yeast extract and salt . It's a by-product of beer brewing . It has a very salty and powerful taste, and is often used with butter. It also has a characteristic scent . I actually went to Australia when I was in high school and tried eating vegemite. Honestly, it wasn't my thing. It was really salty and I wouldn't want to try it again. Now about the Australian food culture, Australia...

My Recipe Presentation in Class

I gave a recipe presentation in class, and I was able to introduce a recipe of any kind of food! I chose to make " Galette Bretonne " for my presentation. Galette is a term used in French cuisine to designate various types of flat round or freeform crusty cakes , or in the case of a Breton galette, a pancake made with buckwheat flour usually with a savoury filling . The recipe and the taste is very similar to that of a conventional crepe . While crepes are made from wheat flour, galettes are often made from buckwheat flour .  The galette has its origin in the famous crepes. These are a gastronomic speciality that is offered throughout France , but the galettes originate from the region of Brittany located in the northwest of the country . There is evidence that in the Ancient Rome people ate crepes to celebrate the arrival of the spring and, therefore, the harvest to come . Centuries later, this traditional recipe evolved and new ingredients were added, such as buckwheat flou...

Today I'm going to do an analysis of a restaurant review I was assigned in class. The restaurant review is this video on YouTube. Istanbul Restaurant Review (↑Click this link to watch the video!!) The video is called "Istanbul Restaurant Review" by a channel called "Safs Life" . The restaurant she reviews is called " Istanbul Restaurant ", and is located in Birmingham, UK in the Handsworth Wood area .  The woman in the video mainly talks about the good points, but also mentions the bad points. The good things about this restaurant: - Service :  People are very lovely/welcome . They're really smiley , and the waiting time is very quick . Takes only five minutes to serve the starters. Once you're finished with your starters, they're ready to bring out your main dishes. She says that she didn't wait any of the times she went there. - Quality of food : You can tell it's fresh . The meat is so soft. However the amount they give you i...
