Analyzing a food blog

Today, I will be analyzing a food blog as a part of my assignment in class.

The name of the blog is called "For the Love of the South.

The purpose of this blog seems to be sharing the love of Southern foods.
The person who created this blog is called Amber Wilson, and she began this blog in January 2012. This blog is written in a first-person perspective and before writing the recipe, she writes a few descriptions about the menu which makes the visitors more attractive to the recipe. She also has an instagram account, and when you go see the account, she posts the same pictures that are on the blog.

She also published a cookbook in 2018 called "For the Love of the South : Recipes & Stories from My Southern Kitchen."
She mainly uses texts and photos for the blog. Visitors can leave comments and there were many comments on all of the menus. They were commenting about how lovely the photos were and the impressions for the recipe. Other than recipes, she also had some posts about southern life, for example, about southern wedding and southern women
For each recipes, she puts several photos, which  makes them easier to imagine the menu. All the pictures were beautiful and looked very delicious. However, she didn't have any recent posts neither on the blog nor her instagram so I am not sure if she is still running the blog.

Restaurant Review

I went to a restaurant called, "Jasmine Thai" and it's a restaurant inside COREDO Muromachi . COREDO Muromachi is a shopping and entertainment complex located in the historic Nihonbashi district at the very heart of the city . This restaurant is certified as Thai SELECT . Thai SELECT is a mark of certification awarded by the Ministry of Commerce, the Royal Thai Government to guarantee the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products and Thai restaurants in Thailand and overseas .  This restaurant had this red symbol , which is Thai SELECT Classic , and this is awarded to Thai restaurants of excellent quality . I went to eat with my parents, and we ordered spicy papaya salad , fried shrimp spring roll , shrimp fried rice noodles with basil and chili , and massaman curry . First, about the service , I give three stars out of five. The waiters were polite and we didn't get stared when we were eating . Also, they served all the food relatively quickly . Next, the quality ...

My Recipe Presentation in Class

I gave a recipe presentation in class, and I was able to introduce a recipe of any kind of food! I chose to make " Galette Bretonne " for my presentation. Galette is a term used in French cuisine to designate various types of flat round or freeform crusty cakes , or in the case of a Breton galette, a pancake made with buckwheat flour usually with a savoury filling . The recipe and the taste is very similar to that of a conventional crepe . While crepes are made from wheat flour, galettes are often made from buckwheat flour .  The galette has its origin in the famous crepes. These are a gastronomic speciality that is offered throughout France , but the galettes originate from the region of Brittany located in the northwest of the country . There is evidence that in the Ancient Rome people ate crepes to celebrate the arrival of the spring and, therefore, the harvest to come . Centuries later, this traditional recipe evolved and new ingredients were added, such as buckwheat flou...

Australian family and food culture from the book "Hungry Planet"

Today, I'm going to introduce you an Australian family and food culture from the book called "Hungry Planet" .  The family is called the Molloy family. Natalie   is the mother of this family, and she is a finance officer at the University of Queensland College. John is the father and he is a banker. They have two kids which is Emily and Sean . This is how the grocery stores look like in Australia. Next, this is the family's weekly consumption . From the weekly consumption, the family buys a unique product called " Vegemite ". Vegemites are made from mainly yeast extract and salt . It's a by-product of beer brewing . It has a very salty and powerful taste, and is often used with butter. It also has a characteristic scent . I actually went to Australia when I was in high school and tried eating vegemite. Honestly, it wasn't my thing. It was really salty and I wouldn't want to try it again. Now about the Australian food culture, Australia...
